If you're anything like me, you like analogies because they help things make sense.
So what exactly does it mean, to weave the web and accept your calling?
Well, I am so glad you asked!
We, as Christians, are all connected through the Holy Spirit. There is this sense of unity when we come together because we know of what the Lord did to redeem us.
This connection is what I like to call a web, of sorts. Not like a spider web exactly, because that kind of web ensnares. But rather, our connection as Christians is a web that enables us to fulfill our God-given calling.
The Great Commission (from Matthew 28: 18 - 20) calls us to continue weaving that web by bringing others into the fold to grow Christ's kingdom:
" And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
So how exactly do we keep weaving that web when this pandemic keeps us from fellowship?
The answer: accept your calling. Accept what it is that God has called you to do with the life that he has given you. Accept it. Embrace it. Let him use you in mighty ways that bring glory to him and the Father.
My calling is to minister to young hearts via studying Elementary Education in college. What's your calling? How can you continue to weave the web?
