The Baking Issue #5

Since we seem to be "on a roll"... go ahead and grab an apron, a friend, and preheat your oven. It's time to get baking!

DINNER ROLLS

{ The quick and easy version! }

Cook Time: 15 Minutes

Prep Time: 10 minutes

> Grease muffin tins

Preheat: 400 degrees

INGREDIENTS:

- 1 pkg. Active Dry Yeast (I used a Tbsp measurement because the packages here are bulk size, with dozens upon dozens of Tbsp amounts.)

- 1 Cup lukewarm Water

- 1 Egg

- 1/4 Cup White Granulated Sugar

- 1 Tsp Salt

- 1/4 Cup Oil (or you could substitute the oil for melted butter)

- 3 Cups of Flour

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water.

2. Add egg, sugar, salt, and oil (or butter, if you substituted).

3. Add half the flour, and beat until smooth. Add the rest of the flour, beating again until smooth throughout.

4. Fill greased muffin tins half full, and let it rise until it fills the tins.

5. Bake and then let cool.

6. Brush the tops with butter while they are still slightly warm to the touch. (The more garlic salt in the butter, the tastier!)

These rolls are especially tasty when you eat them with a holiday dinner. We've had them pretty consistently with our Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving dinners. They are light and fluffy, and oh so yummy!

Until next time folks,

Happy Baking!
